Our friend Hattie invited us over for a cook out at her house last night. We had a great time. Her mom and aunt are visiting. They are an awesome family of tall ladies(all over 6 foot!). Tomorrow we plan to float the river with them. We wore special patriotic outfits, and when in classic Missoula fashion we got there on time and had to wait an hour and a half for the host to come home, we did a photo shoot. Good times.
After the cook out we drove up higher for a better view. We watched tens of fireworks going off all over the valley. Sitting in the cool, breezy air, felt refreshing and wonderful. We talked about the coming year, Peace House, and then just sat in silence as the lights of the city gleamed and the spurts of fireworks dotted brightly against the black mountain ranges.

| After the fireworks finished, we looked farther up the mountain and saw sky lanterns floating up into the sky . It was so beautiful. I like the way our camera thought it looked. |
